Just wanted to add the gender variants of two and one.
-
оди́н(m)/одна́(f)/одно́(n)
-
два(m and n)/две(f)
Also one note on spelling; numbers will only have one soft sign ь. Below 40 (со́рок) it will be at the end, above that it will be in the middle.
Genetive Singular (gen.sg.)
We decline the word this way when we want to say that smth is of smth else.
In russian it is used with numbers too, because when you say 4 roubles, you are saying 4 of roubles, so you decline рубль like четыре рубля
Masculine and neuter nouns will have an -а or -я appended
If it ends in a consonant then you will add an -а
-
друг (friend) becomes друга (of a friend)
If it ends in ь, й or е, then you will append a -я
-
например рубль becomes рубля
-
музей becomes музея
-
свидание becomes свидания
Neuter nouns that end with -мя will have a genetive -ени, for example время becomes времени
Feminine nouns (or masculine with feminine endings) you will replace for ы or и
If it ends in -а replace for ы
-
москва becomes москвы
If it ends in -я or -ь replace -и
-
неделя becomes недели
-
дверь becomes двери
-
папа becomes папы
